Educate Me Foundation announced the kick-off of the first phase of The Mindful Teacher project, Developing Teachers’ Wellbeing and Educational Competencies, in partnership with Air Liquide. The official kick-off meeting was held in January 2026, marking the start of the project’s implementation.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing education quality and supporting sustainable development, with a particular focus on strengthening teachers’ well-being and enhancing their educational competencies as key drivers of effective learning environments.
Project Vision and Initial Implementation
The Mindful Teacher project aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning in public schools by fostering supportive, motivating, and safe educational environments. The project focuses on empowering school leadership and staff, strengthening professional practices, and promoting a culture of wellbeing that positively impacts teachers and students alike.
The first phase commenced with a series of preparatory activities, including coordination with local education authorities, conducting baseline assessments, and holding introductory meetings with school leadership. These activities aim to establish a strong foundation for implementation and ensure that project interventions are aligned with the real needs of each school context.

The project adopts an integrated capacity-building approach targeting school leadership, teachers, and professional development units, with a focus on:

Scope of Implementation
The first phase of The Mindful Teacher project kicked off in Port Said and Suez governorates as a starting point for implementation. Baseline assessments and needs analyses were conducted in the selected public schools: Al-Imam Al-Hussein School in Port Said Governorate and Qassem Amin School in Suez Governorate.
This phase represents a foundational step within a year-long implementation journey, emphasizing continuous follow-up, progress tracking, and adaptive interventions based on evidence and results. The project seeks to contribute to meaningful and sustainable improvements in teaching quality and overall school performance.
The Mindful Teacher project forms part of Educate Me Foundation’s ongoing efforts to enhance education quality in Egypt through strategic partnerships and needs-based, evidence-driven interventions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
