Teaching at Right Level (TaRL)

Teaching at Right Level (TaRL), a pioneer
approach by the Indian NGO Pratham, aims to
solve a learning crisis at its root. The approach
divides children (generally in grades 3 to 6) based
on their level of learning and skills rather than age
or grade. It also focuses on basic reading and
arithmetic skills rather than focusing only on the

curriculum; Regularly evaluating students’ performance rather than relying solely on end-of-year

exams.
