In cooperation with the Education Development Center, Educate Me Foundation launched the pilot phase of the Evidence-Based Supervision Program, the program that aims to train English language supervisors on how to supervise the teacher and appropriate guidance methods and transform their role from a supervisory role over the teacher to a supportive and cooperative role, which is reflected on the teacher’s performance and student achievement.
“Evidence-based supervision”
“Evidence-based supervision” is a program that was implemented in different Arab countries, such as Lebanon and Jordan, with the participation of 700 English language supervisor, but the EDT Foundation had a vision that the educational community in Egypt needed this program to change and develop the role of the supervisor and support the relationship between him and the teacher.
Diana, Project Manager, said that she was happy with Egyptian beneficiaries’ response and enthusiasm towards developing their performance.
Also all supervisors were very grateful for that experience and they appreciate the role and dedication of the trainers. One of the supervisors said that the program reactivated her passion and changed her vision of the nature of her job. Another one mentioned that he hopes to spread the program to all governments in Egypt and the Arab region to achieve a general change in thought and build a maintain the relationship between teacher and supervisor, which is reflected in students’ achievement.
EDT team mentioned that they praised the performance of the Educate Me Foundation trainers and stated that they are experts in training and have a major role in managing training and dealing with the beneficiaries.
